Review: I’m not messing up this book by reading it. I have a friend who was a Buddhist monk. He still lives that way. I’m going to give it to him. Buy myself another copy. For anyone interested, I worked with a man who is a cousin of the queen of Tibet. The Chinese locked her in her “house”, never to leave for the duration of her life. My friend and his family had to flee, as even cousins were some kind of threat I guess. I really, really liked this guy. Here he was having to start totally over, probably in his 50’s, with children and he was working a factory job. Which was NOT as glamorous as it sounds! HAHA! But this man and I managed to have jokes, laugh and enjoy our time at work, anyway. The point being he was the epitome of what the Dalai Lama represents and teaches. I didn’t know anything about the teachings at the time. But I read them now and I can totally see and hear my friend laughing and talking in the same way. It brings the encouragement needed to strive for such goodness as a way of life.
