Review: Very well-written and concise. This book is from the 1980s and is still relevant today. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get an introduction into Physics.

Review: It is good for an introduction to physics.

Review: I purchased the 4th edition of both volumes of “Physics”. In my opinion they are written in a more cogent style than the more recent (re-written) edition. Concepts are presented in a clear a concise manner, and the mathematic development of equations is satisfyingly complete (liberally using calculus). It vastly outdoes the more modern, and flashy variations of physics books like “Fundamentals of Physics” umpteenth edition that competes with glossy sci-fi magazines, and in the process convolutes the essential ideas with a mass of entertainment. This book presents the key ideas in physics very nicely.

Review: I wanted the second volume of Fundamentals of Physics (Halliday, Resnick, and Walker), but this book by Halliday, Resnick and Krane is a good substitue. It goes well with Volume 1.
