Title: Services
Review: Everything is fine with the AC. Low electricity and noise. But when it comes to services OG is the worst of them all. First we need to file complaint. They respond only when they like(after 1 wk)and then send a person who knows only how to fix a AC.(Ofcourse I had pay him. Since he was one who came and found out the problem, which I already know). Then he informed an actual AC mechanic about the problem. That mechanic told he will only come when the OG service centre sends him. It’s been two since I spoke with him. Till now no response from Service centre. Two weeks later they send me a message stating that i don’t need any service, so they are cancelling my complaint. For any queries call WhatsApp no (or) 11 digit service number.Which they never pick.Total waste of my time and money.Worst service ever in my life….

Title: Go for the best …
Review: For someone that’s buying AC for the first time, I had to get the basics sorted first.1. I had to choose between the inverter and the non-inverter. While many including traditional repair folks suggested the non-inverter (because they know to repair the non-inverter), it looks like the inverter will offset the heavy investment made during the time of purchase by keeping the electricity bill under check. Inverters are assessed only by the concerned company. So, if you buy Samsung, it’s the Samsung team alone that checks the gadget.2. Cutting electricity costs also means that you go for 5-star although I was informed that 5-star machines make sense only when used continuously … for those that use the machine sparingly, 4-star or 3-star ratings apparently won’t make a difference (kindly check on this before you buy).3. Further, my bedroom is approx. 120 sq. ft., meaning a 1-ton AC suffices. People might want to thrust the 1.5 ton for instance but do your homework before buying.4. I don’t buy gadgets from Amazon in general. I had to check out Jayam (Rs. 46K), Chroma/Shah (Rs. 49k), Reliance (Rs. 45.5K) and Poorvika (Rs. 46K) alongside Girijas and O’G dealers (Rs. 49K) for prices: I found Reliance cheaper than others in Chennai. I suggest you go around checking for prices.5. Exchange offers vary drastically from one retailer to another (some offer Rs. 2,500/- and some offer Rs. 3,500/- … few others upto Rs. 5,000/- to even Rs. 6000/-) but ensure you know the final amount you end up paying for the AC after the exchange and take a call accordingly.—When it came to brands, it was clear that Samsung (when compared to LG) does not have great spare parts for replacement. This was informed by repair folks and was directly experienced for Samsung fridge from my end. The reviews for LG wasn’t up to the mark here at Amazon. While Panasonic does have good AC’s to offer, I was informed to consider O’General or Mitsubishi (electric or heavy duty) because they are considered the APPLE of AC’s (I chose to go for the best like my father with Carrier back in the 90’s) … this is when I found this beast reasonable because Mitsubishi is very niche in terms of customer support. Further, I was informed that the installation for O’General is free and the beast comes with 3-meter copper wire. You have to pay for practically everything when it comes to Mitsubishi although it is apparently better than O’General. Chroma offers Mitsubishi Heavy Duty.Reliance charged me an added Rs. 9600/- for the installation because I live on the second floor. Please see to it you get to know the final charges with whatever AC you buy. I was informed by the Reliance staff that this cost is the same regardless of the AC … hopefully this is true. Whatever it is, be prepared to shell extra for the spare parts. Reliance fellow was prompt and did his job well.I have to get the attached bath door organized before I use the machine. I will revert back on this machine after a couple of months for its functionality. For starters, the noise was much less. The remote has a display for the data but there’s no back-lit buttons to work on the remote. Further, O’General and even Mitsubishi was informed of lacking any temperature display on the AC.Keep the above factors in mind before you buy the AC of your choice.
