Title: Sufficient
Review: It covers most topics. A detailed coverage would be outside the scope of the coverage of this book. Good for beginners

Review: I got this book for my daughter this Christmas. She always had a head for numbers, but then… life. Now it’s 2020 &… Life, however it’s also an excellent time for learning, study, personal development and so on. This book really looks like it can deliver her back to where she wants to be with numbers. Also to note, the writing style is very accessible.

Review: It’s almost 20 years since I left school with an very poor grade in maths. Maths has always been my achilles heal, but recently I made a career change where maths skills are used daily. I was out of my depth and although sceptical about how much any one book could help, I have to say that I could not recommend this book more strongly. The chapters are fairly short but succinct and informative with examples and quizzes throughout. For me much of the content is new, but even in the section with familiar basic arithmetic, I found more effective ways to do calculations – and without a calculator! It’s a few weeks since I finished this book and I am now comfortable with fractions, percentages, logs, roots and powers, and so much more. It has really boosted my confidence and I am now taking a maths course to build my skills further. This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to brush up their maths skills.

Review: Simply stated but never understated. The book I should have written! For my sins, I am currently teaching maths to level 2 (equivilent to Grade C in GCSE) in a prison, (I must have done something very bad in a previous life!) Consequently it is very challenging to get the students to understand basic concepts without too many wordy explanations – yet this author has done a wonderful job of stating the facts and leaving out the waffle. It is modern, bang up to date and yet gets the job done systematically, light heartedly and consistently. I simply ask students to read the relevant chapter in the book and then we discuss their understanding – as they say no pain no gain and this is probably the least painful approach so far. Students like the personalisation. It saves me a lot of effort saying exactly the same thing, over and over again. It’s ideal for proving the point to sceptical students – who don’t always believe me just because I say it’s true – this book therefore backs me up, succinctly and sweetly. It is simply the best, the book I wish I had written!
