Title: One of the best AC out there + excellent remote?
Review: If you are looking for a complete package, then look nowhere other than Daikin.I purchased the 1.5 Ton 4 Star AC 10-days ago, and until now I am impressed with what it has to offer. To give you guys a better idea, let me go through the whole experience.Installation: Installation went super smooth. The installation guys called me even before the AC arrived. I told them that it had not arrived yet. They insisted on letting them know once it does. So, once the AC arrived, I called them, and to my surprise, they said that they are coming right away.The installation process started, and it was done in 3 hours max.Also, for those people who are saying that they are charging money even when installation is free, you guys have no idea about how AC installation is done.According to the offer when I purchased the AC, the installation charges are free. This means that the engineers won’t take labor charges for installing the AC. But, that doesn’t mean that you also don’t have to pay for the extra materials that are required to install the AC!Also, the extra charges can vary heavily depending on the amount of material needed including pipe, tape and so on. In my case, it cost me 2500 INR, and I am super happy with it.Build Quality and DesignThe build quality of the AC is excellent. The internal unit looks sleek and modern. However, I do have a complaint here.The bottom part of the internal unit slightly bugles during installation. According to engineer, it cannot be fixed (or removed) due to the backplate that is fixed on the wall. The AC resets on the backplate. Anyway, it is not a big issue, and hard to notice for visitors..so I agreed to not do anything else.Functionality and RemoteThe AC functions as advertised. It cools and cools very nicely.However, I was not expecting that the AC remote would be so awesome!It has almost every functionality that you would need.Few of my key features that can be controlled through remote include Coanda mode which works in conjunction with a fan. You just turn it on and put a fan on the slowest speed. Your room will be filled with a cold ambiance unlike direct cold air in case of swing fans.I also love the display at the remote. It shows all the possible icons and notification that makes handling AC a charm!I also loved Good Slepe mode, Econo mode, and horizontal and vertical swing!ManualThe manual is also nicely crafted. I used it to learn about the AC which the engineers fail to tell me. I told the installation guys to give me a demo, but they couldn’t. I don’t blame them as they just basic stuff. I would request everyone who buys the AC to read the manual at least once to understand the true functionality of the AC.Overall ValueThe overall value of the AC is just excellent. It is affordable and enables you to enjoy with minimal electricity bills(I am skeptical here as I am yet to receive the first electric bill, but I think it will be fine)!Summary1. Excellent build quality.2. Out of the world AC remote.3. Great feature-set4. No display on the AC unit(CON)5. Excellent manualOverall rating: 9.5/10About the service, I am not sure as I am yet to take advantage of it. However, from my friend circle and peers, they are well known for their service(at least in the Kolkata region.)

Title: Worst brand and worst service
Review: Bought it for my Kerala home and thought Daikin is a know brand and I would like it. But, I was wrong. From day 1, the cooling of the AC is abominable. It starts slowly and reaches at around 90-97% compressor capacity and after a little time starts reducing its capacity and stays at 45-55% then after. Reported the issue to the company and they sent technician from some Giant Air System and they say that ambient temperature is high and that’s why it’s like that. I wonder that if 34 degrees ambient temperature is high for this AC, what would happen to people who buy it for Delhi or places like that? It’s been more than 25 days since I’ve registered the complaint and have called Giant Air Systems multiple times but till date they have not attended it.My suggestion would is people, don’t buy this brand. Their service is poor and you will regret your decision like I am right now.Update 14/03/24 – The guy (I think he is some senior tech guy from service team) visited on 13/02/24 and checked the system with gas pressure monitor and found nothing wrong with the gas pressure. It was around 140 when operating and he told me that it’s fine. Then apparently he flushed the gas a little bit and told me that sometimes it’s needed to do so to let the trapped air release from the system and it can help. He did check rest of the operations. He explained a lot of things and some key takeaways are-1. The display room temperature is always adjusted 2-3 degrees higher than the actual room temperature so that the machine could keep on working on keeping the room temperature to a comfortable levels when people open the doors or windows of that room for something.2. He taught me how without any equipment one can test and find that the AC gas pressure and other functions are ok. The method is – just go to the outdoor unit and check the pipe temperature of both in and out pipes and if they are somewhat similar in temperature, that means the rotation of the gas is perfect and there is no need to worry. On the other hand if there is a big variation in temperature of in and out pipes, one should ask the technician to come and check.3. Even if we set 18 degree as the required temperature for the room, it will never really reach that level in practical conditions. So, we must be ok with that as well and I think that’s fair enough.4. He asked me to keep the AC at 24 degrees preferably and that would give you the most comfortable room condition and I agree with him.5. These are smart ACs and they are designed to operate with minimal power consumption and hence you may find the load on compressor varying at times.He said sometimes the trapped air in the system can cause a bit issue with cooling but I am not sure how and if that air can be removed from the system when it is already mixed with the gas in compressor.First day of use after flushing it was better compared to previous days. The system didn’t drop performance and did some work to cool the room. At 24 degrees, it felt cool enough and I think it’s improved.Will share more after a few days of checking it. Increasing the rating from 1 star to 3 star for the well behaved technician from Giant air systems ( actually every technician who visited from Giant was well behaved and gentleman, it’s just my frustration with the delay in their response which got be cribbing about them 😉 ha ha haa…)

Title: High quality product from Daikin
Review: The delivery was quick and the AC was delivered 3 days before the date which is impressive.I got sms about installation booking on the same day and AC was installed next day.Installation was conducted by two teenage boys who were quiet inexperienced and took almost 5 hours in the whole process, they did try to sell their ODU stand @ ₹850 but I had already arranged iron angle stand made by local iron works shop for about half the price and they (installation guys) installed the ODU on my own stand.They drilled a hole in the wall for the copper pipes and did not fill it with anything to shut it so I’ll have to close it myself with wall putty or something else.The installation team did not overcharge me for anything as I arranged everything on my own for less than half of their price.Overall the installation was OK and very cheap (825 only)Now come to AC after installation.The AC takes quite time to start working but after that time the AC cools very fast and manages the temperature of my large room (230sqft)Pros-1- Four way swing2- Air throw is very powerful3- Indoor unit makes very less noise4- The matte finish looks greatCons-1- Non convertible AC2- Outdoor unit is very noisy3- No batteries with remote4- No user manualAs of now I’ve used it for just 30 minutes, will update after few days where the temperature rises.
