Are you always frightened, tense, and anxious? Do you feel alienated on this planet? Do you constantly suffer to meet your fundamental needs and believe you don’t have enough money? Are you looking for stability and groundedness in your life? If so, you should strive to balance your Root Chakra…
Our bodies, minds, emotions, thoughts, actions, and everything around us are all formed of energy, as ‘multi-disciplinary genius’ and inventor Nikola Tesla once said: “If you want to comprehend the cosmos, consider it in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”
The chakras are basically energy centers scattered throughout the subtle body (‘subtle’ refers to something we can’t see but can clearly feel energetically). Consider the chakras to be spinning energy wheels—wheels that rotate simultaneously to generate a combination of energy and life force. There are seven chakras, each of which is positioned in different parts of the body and represents a different aspect of our energy body.
When the chakras are balanced and spinning effortlessly, life is beautiful. We experience a sense of fullness in all aspects—emotional, mental, and physical; mind, body, and soul. Our relationships, conversations, actions, goals, and interests just flow.
A balanced chakra system can be thought of as refreshing water running down a stream, gently caressing everything it meets, and continuing down its journey with ease, grace, and fluidity. But when the chakras are misaligned—one being overactive and the other being underactive—life can be challenging. This misalignment might not be apparent on the surface, but delve down a layer or two and you’ll quickly notice where your work lies.
Chakra balancing is a diverse and interesting practice. It doesn’t have to take hours, and there are several therapies and do-it-yourself techniques to choose from. This topic, however, has a wealth of knowledge and depth—depth that cannot be mastered at once. What can be done is to deal with each chakra individually, learning what it symbolizes, how it affects the body, mind, and soul, and how to heal it. That’s the reason behind this “Chakra Guidebook” series.
Each book in this series focuses on a specific chakra and provides different strategies for balancing and healing it. Each book is a stand-alone guide to a specific chakra. You will discover all there is to know about that specific chakra. This part is solely dedicated to the Root Chakra.
Because the Root Chakra is supposed to provide energy to the other chakras, if it is blocked or out of balance, your other chakras are likely to be as well. As with any structure, ensuring that your chakras have a solid foundation—with a balanced Root Chakra—is critical to having a healthy, open chakra system.
For ages, many spiritual traditions have claimed that the Root Chakra is the chakra system’s grounded base. This energy wheel is related to your sense of security, family relations, and a sense of belonging. When energy flows through the first chakra, you feel deeply rooted in yourself and your surroundings. We feel linked to the Earth, which allows us to feel safe enough to let our energies flow and propel us ahead in life.

Review: Finally, I have some direction, and a better understanding of Chakras altogether. I especially loved the Chakra myths, that sets the record straight and from there we move on to Root Chakra at a glance, gives a quick summary covering all the basis such as attributes: Sanskrit Name, meaning, location, element, qualities, color, color psychology, sensory, organ and so on. As well as characteristics, a lot to take in but written in a way we can always reference back which I thoroughly appreciate as it makes it feel seamless, and comfortable. Balancing the Root Chakra, I never realized how much of what I feel could be attributed to out of balance Chakra. Blocked (oopsie, I think that’s me) Root Chakra, there are 19 signs given and a quick explanation of what that entails as well as other symptoms. For me this book has been quite beneficial, it makes sense to pool together these resources, exercises, techniques recognizing how everything is interconnected. I believe in both Western and Eastern healing, I’m getting more into the latter as I age. This book is well informed and written that it really helps guide me and I do feel a gentle hand of assistance here. I already am familiar with some techniques like breathing, meditation, a bit of yoga (I’m modifying the poses as I’m a bit older). If nothing else, I’d say the Pranayamas (breathing) are so beneficial and give a great step by step instruction on how to do them, the long-term benefits are amazing especially for anyone suffering anxiety.Completely new to me is the 20 Chakra affirmations, just what I needed like a warm, cozy hug. Positive self-talk in a mind/body that struggles with this. All written out in bullet form, easily referenceable.Visualization Meditation, I’ve tried it before, but something was amiss, well here we go trying it again. Open mind!!! Ah, yes, now I know what I’ve been missing. Like a good friend helping me through, Sahu has thought of everything from our perspective. Okay, it’s going to take me some practice to get a routine going with it but that’s what I want. I want this to be part of my everyday routine of self-care. Ditto on Mantra Chanting, this of course is completely new to me and *smile* for some reason it makes me feel young again.Aromatherapy section, good information there for those that partake in such. Crystals ahhhhh now we’re talking! I have quite a few of the crystals mentioned, and some are my favorites. I wonder if that is just some sort innate draw to them? Anywho, Sahu gives several ways to use them, I like that as there is some versatility. Also, ways to clean them.Reiki, I’m still not quite there yet. Great info and guidance but I’m kind of hooked on the Sound Healing at the moment. Sahu gives the frequencies and musical notes for each chakra-fab! Dietary recommendations, what you say? I never knew. Again, I’m wondering if there is something innate because when I’m feeling a bit off I seem to navigate to quite a few of these foods. I always feel some sort of comfort, calm after eating them. Quite amazing, the more I learn the more I know and the more I want to learn!Such a wonderful resource of information. How to balance, heal. When to know you are blocked, and opening (yes, there are signals/symptoms of that too). Well, here I am at the end of the book. It’s been quite the experience and one I’ll journey on with, gotta get my Root Chakra in shape and then onto the next! Well, if you’ve gotten this far in my review woo hoo I hope this will inspire you to take that leap of faith and grab a copy. You won’t regret it.

Review: I stumbled upon this freebie on Kindle. Sometimes the freebies are less than expected, but this was a pleasant surprise. What I like best is that it brings together relevant information that I haven’t found anywhere else in my search. I plan to read his works on the other chakras as well. For a beginner, or as someone who has been walking this path for some time, I can readily recommend this work.

Review: I like how this book is focused on one chakra. I learned a lot about what it means for general well-being and how to balance it. It’s interesting how many things I found in this book that can help cure some issues I had that modern medicine had difficulties dealing with. Some illnesses constantly come back, but by unblocking the ground chakra, they may be gone.
