Title: Great, but not the best like her previous one
Review: It’s an interesting story, the past, the horrifying woods, the luxurious rooms, the location, revealing the real indentity of the charector, love it. But honestly i loved her past books more than this one, specially The paris apartment. You sometimes lost between the past and multiple points of view. It slows down the pace. But i enjoyed reading it.

Title: Not the best thriller
Review: *The Midnight Feast* by Lucy Foley is set in The Manor, a historic house that has been converted into a wellness boutique hotel by Francesca Meadows, the granddaughter of the original owners. The story is told from four perspectives: Francesca, who runs the hotel; her husband Owen; Bella, a mysterious guest; and Eddie, who works in the kitchen. The narrative switches between these characters and moves through different timelines, blending the present with the past and a folklore that appears to be coming true.Eddie stood out as my favorite character. He’s relatable, sincere, and straightforward. However, I struggled to stay engaged with the story. The frequent shifts in perspective and a diary written in a melodramatic teenage style often disrupted the flow. Although the book has a lot of promise, the way the plot twists and reveals were handled felt more exhausting than exciting. This was my first time reading a book by Lucy Foley, and even though I didn’t enjoy this one as much, I’m open to trying more of her work to get a better sense of her writing. For now, I’d give this book three out of five stars.

Review: This is a good book and a very well written one. However, I have read earlier books by Lucy Foley and found them a tad sharper.

Title: Loved reading multiple POVs
Review: The Midnight Feast gave me mixed feelings. There were moments where it kept me on the edge while other parts felt cold to me or rather unnecessary. The story is set around “The Manor” where guests come to seek peace and rest. Francesca, the owner makes sure that everything is perfect and to the liking of her guests. There’s one guest with whom she shares a past. The story switches between multiple POVs and it was thrilling to read everyone’s side of the story. Everything seemed scattered in the beginning until all the pieces came together at the end.I loved the writing style, narrative as well as the idea behind the story but the climax of the story fell flat for me. It seemed as if the story had a thrilling execution but till it reached the end, the plot lost its direction.I had high expectations from the book because of how it started but it’s safe to say that the book disappointed me in many ways. I didn’t feel the thrill or tension when the major twists were uncovered. With an easy and smooth writing style, the book moves at a fast pace and keeps you glued till the end. The minor twists in the middle were definitely something that I enjoyed reading and they were the reason why I read till the end.

Title: ALL IN ALL “THE MIDNIGHT FEAST” IS UNPUTDOWNABLE.
Review: “For every foul that ever there wasIs gathered there tonight becauseTonight’s the nightThe Night Birds make their mischief”It all began with a secret, fifteen years ago. Now the past has crashed the party. And it’ll end in murder at… The Midnight Feast.Lucy Foley knocked the ball outta park with this one. Foley is one mystery author you can forever come back to when you need a twisty, unpredictable story with unhinged characters whose motivations always end with a question mark, and The Midnight Feast is no different. I started this at 10 in the night, hoping to get a few pages in, and I ended up gobbling half of the book. One of the standout elements of The Midnight Feast is Foley’s incorporation of folklore, particularly the legend of the Night Birds. This motif is seamlessly integrated into the narrative, enhancing the eerie atmosphere and adding a supernatural dimension to the mystery. The setting itself is a character in the novel. The opulent resort, with its glistening infinity pool in stark contrast with the enigmatic ancient forest which is sacred to the natives, create a perfect semblance for the dark events that transpire. What makes The Midnight Feast a perfect thriller (I might be biased, but I am allowed to) is the incorporation of parallel storylines and multiple POVs, another of Foley’s strong points. We readers are pushed into the dark abyss of the story without being given clear clues about who the characters are and their backstory. Furthermore, the use of journal entries serves as a compelling device to transport the reader back in time, shedding light on the haunting events that unfolded at the property years before and which led to how the story shaped.ALL IN ALL “THE MIDNIGHT FEAST” IS UNPUTDOWNABLE.

Review: This was the best and most memorable book I read in 2024, and I read a lot of mostly mystery fiction. The Midnight Feast hooked me in the first paragraph and didn’t let go. Some characters are deeply unpleasant but so well-developed that you are compelled to read on even if you can’t relate to them or care what happens to them. It was like watching a complex, slow train wreck. The plot was twisting and filled with secrets while I was able to unravel some of the secrets I didn’t catch them all. A very enjoyable, thoughtful novel that will stay with me for a long time.
