Review: The premise was alright but the characters completely unbelievable. Hope actually became more annoying as I read than feeling sympathy for the character. Her portrayal of a naive doormat wore thin and I found myself skimming rather than giving this book much more of my time. Very disappointed to of wasted my money.

Review: The foibles of the main characters created light hearted atmosphere in contrast to the unexpected twist and turns of the storyline. A pleasurable and endearing reading experience.

Review: Lynne Graham is one of my favorite HP writers but I have always hesitated to buy this book because of the negative reviews. I finally purchased it, mostly because Lynne Graham is a huge guilty pleasure of mine. I thought this book was great. For the reviewers who thought that the hero didn’t really love the heroine; were we reading the same book? Yeah, the guy had one passing thought in his head that he would eventually marry, but, that thought was in line with thinking of how he could get Hope to stay with him forever. My guess, even without the crazy sister, he would have never married another woman. The guy couldn’t even look at another woman. He was utterly destroyed without Hope. Yeah, the pregnancy was a good excuse for him to get back together with her, but, I don’t think he could have stayed away from her much longer. He clung to that pregnancy excuse, even when he thought it was someone else’s baby. And I loved Hope. She wasn’t a doormat; she was in love, and accepted her relationship with Andreas as it was. She didn’t have low self esteem as other reviewers keep saying. Lets be real, the guy she was dating is an incredibly handsome, unbelievable wealthy jet setter and international financial whiz. So yeah, she would have moments of “wow, I can’t believe he’s with me”. Thats not low self esteem, that’s reality. But, she didn’t hesitate to question Andreas about where the relationship was going, and she kept pressing, which is why they went to that ill fated party in the first place. And yeah, Andreas was out of line for not trusting her, but, its hard to think that a family member that you love is going to flat out lie to your face. I respected Hope forcing Andreas to listen to her, I love that she stood in front of the door. To me, their argument was more in line of an actual argument as opposed to other HP arguments where the heroine stammers and stutters while having crazily inappropriate internal monologues of how hot the hero is, so much so she can’t concentrate on the argument. At the end of this book, I was convinced that Andreas was crazily in love with Hope, and thats what I am looking for in a HP. And for readers who thought the hero was too cold and too much of an alpha-hole, thats what the HP line is all about. If you want sensitive and gentle, read the Harlequin superromance line.
