The existence of inequity in health care service provision, especially the publicly provided service is fundamentally gross injustice. In this book, the author analyses the public health care service in the North Eastern states of India with special focus on Assam, the only major state of India in the North Eastern region. The inequity in the health care service provision has been analyzed from various perspectives i.e., geographical locations like rural-urban, region, state wise, community wise and the like. Health care service provision from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) perspective is also discussed. Therefore, the book will help the readers to understand the health care status in various aspects and the concern that exists in the realm of public health care service provisioning in the region. The book also discusses the Out-of-Pocket expenditures of the people and compares the relative public expenditures of different states in the region. The author completed his Doctorate degree in Health Economics from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya (a Central University). Further, he had a brief course on Sustainable Development Goals from the University of Bergen, Norway. He has a keen interest in the area of Health Economics. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Economics at BGCW, Government of Puducherry, Union Territory of Puducherry, India.
