Review: Shilajit is made of fulvic acid that really gives me a boost of energy and a sense of wellbeing. This is good quality and particularly strong and stinky. The gold spoon that comes with it adds just the right amount of drama and I’m sure can be repurposed when the jar is done. It says to mix into water but I take it straight and chase it with 12 ounces of water because this stuff tastes suuuuuuuuuuper nasty, but it works!

Review: I’m in my 60s and always looking for ways to boost my energy and stamina. All the research I’ve done online for this product reveals promising results with a few caveats to watch out for, mainly to do with unpurified Shilajit containing harmful metals. This brand appears safe so I thought I’d give it a try. First of all, the taste is awful…like liquified potting soil. My original goal of putting it under my tongue went to the wayside because there is no way that I wanted that taste to linger in my mouth any longer than necessary. What I found to be the most tolerable method is to 1) Pour about an ounce of hot water in a small glass (I use a shot glass), 2) drop a pea-sized amount of the Shilajit resin in the hot water and stir to mix, 3) Add just enough room temp water to cool the mixture enough to drink, mixing it with the little spoon, 4) Toss the entire mixture in your mouth as far towards the back of your throat as possible and swallow. This helps to avoid it coming into contact with most of your taste buds. 5) Follow up with a big drink of something strong like coffee, tea, or orange juice. There is still a slight lingering of the ‘earthy’ taste of the resin but not much, especially if you’re like me and you take it before drinking your AM coffee. I keep the opened jar in the frig which makes it easier to dispense since it’s not quite as runny. I’m still on the first jar which came only half full of resin, which I’m not sure is normal but there was no leaking inside the box it came in. I’ve been taking it for a little less than a week with no adverse side effects and I think it’s still too early to tell if it helps with my energy, etc. At $49, it is on the expensive side but if it works for me, it’s worth that cost, especially with all the purity claims.

Review: One of the two containers I received had a very strong acidic metal smell to it and did not feel comfortable trying. The other container had pleasant smell and very bitter taste which is trademark of shilajit resin. One out of two containers was unuseable which is the reason for the two stars.

Review: This is some strong tasting shilijat, which in my experience means it’s potent shilijat. However, this brand tastes particularly nasty and I can’t tell if it’s that’s a good or bad thing. I’m going to assume good as far as product efficacy goes. Also, this stuff isn’t supposed to taste good. After all, shilijat is a tar like substance that’s formed from centuries of the decomposition of plant matter at high altitudes. I like that this shows the lab analysis right on the product page. It also says to take it mixed with some liquid which is definitely a good idea. I’ve taken it straight before, washed down with a drink immediately, but the horrible taste lingered in my mouth far too long. Mixing it directly with a drink that helps mask the taste and then knocking it back immediately, followed by a chaser or two has become my preferred way to take it.
