This handbook examines the dichotomy between the structure of products and their subgraphs. It also features the design of efficient algorithms that recognize products and their subgraphs and explores the relationship between graph parameters of the product and factors. Extensively revised and expanded, this second edition presents full proofs of many important results as well as up-to-date research and conjectures. It illustrates applications of graph products in several areas and contains well over 300 exercises. Supplementary material is available on the book’s website.

Title:
Review: This is the book that I had thought experts like Richard Hammack, Wilfried Imrich and Sandi Klavzar would be able to write, and since the trio has few competitors in this discipline, I am delighted to see that I thought just right. The book derives its strength and excellence from the fact that the authors speak from their hearts, since they have a crystallized understanding of all aspects of product graphs. Indeed, a number of major results in the book have been obtained by the authors themselves. For most others, they have stood as mentors, troubleshooters, referees and reviewers.Product graphs have numerous applications in varied areas like mathematics, engineering, computer science, chemistry, sociology and operations research. This book contains a large number of motivating examples, well-written proofs, exercises and their solutions, and an up-to-date bibliography. I strongly believe that it will be an asset to most everyone in discrete mathematics, computer science and related disciplines.
