Containing more than 6,000 entries, CRC Standard Mathematical Tables and Formulas, 33rd Edition continues to provide essential formulas, tables, figures and detailed descriptions. The newest edition of this popular series also features many diagrams, group tables, and integrals that are not available online.

This edition also incorporates important topics such as max plus algebra, financial options, pseudospectra, and proof methods. Newly updated topics reflecting new results include couple analogues, radar, and significant equations of mathematics.

New features of the 33rd edition include:

Larger trim size, five new topics, and topics which have been modified to update results

Provides practical, ready-to-use information and covers important topics that are unfamiliar to many readers, such as visual proofs and sequences

Includes hard-to-find and more complete information than found in the Internet such as table of conformal mappings and integral tables

Adds descriptions of new functions: Lambert, prolate spheroidal, and Weierstrass

Even though the book has been updated it retains the same successful format of previous editions in that material is still presented in a multi-sectional format.

Title: Some parts are good, other parts not so much
Review: This book tries its best to stay relevant in the age of Internet. It has dropped most of the tables (log tables etc) that are irrelevant in the age of calculator apps in every phone. What remains is a curated list of formulae as well as some tables.Yes, you will find all the information online as well; but when solving problems, you do not always know which formula to apply. Therefore, it is convenient to have a list of all available formulae so that you can pick the one that works the best. Also, having all of it in a physical book format helps. Most of my students who use ebooks cannot find anything in those books by themselves, and have to wait for me to tell them the exact page number of any relevant information. They are comfortable with video format, not text. But video format is clumsy for the purpose of a handbook. With a physical copy of a handbook, you eventually develop a “feel” of where certain information is.With that being said, this book does have weaknesses. Not all the chapters are great. For example, the Combinatorics chapter is excellent, but the Statistics chapter is very poor. It provides non-standard formulae, and doesn’t show the useful variations of those formulae. I think this book needs a mass-market international version if it wishes to stay relevant.

Review: I got this as it is always good to have a superior reference on various equations, mathematical relationships and more! CRC Handbooks in University were invaluable for referring to many related topics. This one caught my eye as I often find myself needing to dig a bit deeper for certain specific applications, such as optics equations, or other applications in RF problems needing to be solved. This book has a LOT of excellent reference tables, relationships, derivations, and more. Covers a LOT of good higher end mathematics. Should have something for most folks looking for a good handy reference on these and more. Recommended highly and exceptional value having an almost “all-in-one” book on these topics! Thanks!

Review: All formulae, tables and examples in this book are concisely defined in layman’s terms, and are easy to navigate when digital source materials/references are unavailable. This book is particularly useful when cross-referencing basic outputs for code in R, python, mathematica or matlab. An essential book for anyone involved in data science, statistics and quantitative analysis. The hardcover version is thick and sturdy at 858 pages, and doubles as a useful paper weight or desk riser.5/5.

Review: I have an older edition and bought this for my son in engineering school. This is a must have. It has hundreds of trig identities, sums of series, etc. I thought for sure it wouldn’t be around any more but it is.
