Review: The reason I put the date in my headline is because you have to know I just got that thing If there is a mistake in this review please forgive me I am dictating it from my iPhone I have a Roku 4 and I love the remote although I think they sold us out with those weird buttons at the bottom that nobody ever uses to go directly to apps I think it’s a waste of time but that’s another story I dropped my Roku remote about a month ago and the back came off so that I constantly had to hold it together with my hand and occasionally it would fall apart and the batteries would fall out and I know I need a replacement This thing was under $10. When it arrived in the mail promptly I was very nervous because it had no paring button Long story short I turned on my Roku and used this remote which I had to put batteries into – in a minute it picked up on my Roku and works like a absolute charm. It seems to pick it up usually no matter where I am although if you’re in the direction the general direction of your Roku it’s probably better – there they are missing that bottom button underneath the directional keys so you have to get used to hitting the OK button in the middle of the directional keys which initially annoyed me and then I grew used to it within a few days Other than that and the lack of the headphone jack which I rarely used this is an absolutely fantastic replacement for the price in fact I would say for the price it’s even above and beyond doing what I thought it would do and is doing the trick until I can afford to just simply replace it with the proper remote – I highly highly highly recommend this remote control as it really does the job beautifully at least on my Roku 4. It’s smaller than the other remote and not as slick or shiny and smooth to the touch but it does the trick and whatever problem you have with that I suspect you get over in about three days once you get used to it I really am impressed with this little $10 remote control replacement I’m really shocked at how well it works

Review: I bought this after I purchased a refurbished Roku 3 which absolutely refused to pair with the remote it came with. That’s was a frustrating experience of constantly changing batteries, pressing the pairing button, rebooting the machine, repositioning my electronics in a vain attempt to get the remote to pair.Avoid all that frustration with this remote which works absolutely great right out of the box. It’s very responsive from a good distance. Works at least 20 ft. away.This is an infrared remote which has drawbacks and advantages. The big advantage is that no pairing is required. It works right away. The downside is that it needs a line of sight to your Roku box. I like the option of hiding that box behind the TV or in a drawer for a neater look. Can’t do that with an IR remote. Also, it’s sometimes nice not to have to aim your remote at your Roku though this seems to have a wide beam.The remote looks and feels solid. You can’t tell it’s not a Roku product. I’m very happ with this purchase.

Review: I brought my Roku 2 unit to our house in Maine, but this year I forgot the remote. After looking at the Roku web site prices I found a better alternative by checking out companies offering a similar remote on Amazon’s site. The ARC101 Standard IR replacement remote had all the features that I needed and the price point was good. I ordered and waited a few days. The ARC101 arrived on time and was packed in a padded envelope. The remote actually is better than the original remote, because it has more direct access buttons. We watch shows on both SlingTV and Hulu and the direct buttons work quickly. I am very satisfied with the remote’s quality and functionality.

Review: I have 2 Ruko’s ; one in family room and one in bedroom. the original remote controls stopped working; this works reasonable well. The Roku units I have allow for Headphones; this replacement will turn on streaming, change channels, but won’t accommodate headphones. However, the “patch” that works very well in my house is to use my Apple I-phone app for Roku, and plug in earbuds to the I-phone, and then I can watch TV and listen to the sound via earbuds, while my husband sleeps – this works very well.
